Not too long ago, the idea of having a small projector in your pocket was just wishful thinking.
In terms of portability, there are a wide range of projectors that offer various features and sizes. We’ll help you sort out which one is right for you.
Since many of us have been traveling less these days due to the pandemic, now is a good time to get your tech ready. There are a variety of projectors that are designed for various tasks.
These projectors are relatively lightweight and have various features and portability. Some of them weigh less than 2 pounds. They also vary in brightness and portability.
A portable projector is a great alternative to a big-screen TV. They can be used to show movies in the backyard or bring them with you to conduct presentations. Most projectors are small enough to fit into most mobile devices.
Although it’s a great alternative to a home theater projector, a portable screen can’t provide the same brightness. Also, it’s not as bright as a regular home theater projector, and too much ambient light can make it unusable.
If you’re not sure which type of home theater projector is right for you, then check out some of our picks. They’ll give you the image quality and portability that you need without breaking the bank.

The Mars II Pro is a good choice for anyone looking for a compact projector that can provide good image quality and light output. Its portability and overall design makes it stand out from the crowd.
The Mars II features a built-in 12,500 mAh battery, which provides up to 3.5 hours of talk time. It’s also capable of playing audio and video content through a Wi-Fi connection.
Finding the right portable projectors for small-group use has been a bit challenging over the last couple of years. There were a variety of projectors that offered good output but were also very portable. However, there were also a few that offered poor sound quality and lacked portability.
This review will go over some basic factors that I took into account when choosing a projector for our family. One of the projectors that stood out was the ManyBox V501, which was our favorite because it offered a variety of input options and didn’t require plugging a laptop to play.
Aside from buying a car, I also made a few sacrifices to ensure that my kids’ memories are made memorable. That’s why I decided to spend $549 on a top-of-the-line projector.
LG PH30N

- HD Resolution (1280 x 720)
- Up to 100 inch screen. (Project 40 inches from 4.4 feet away - Project 100" at 10.9 feet away)
- Up to 250 ANSI lumens
- Portable CineBeam Projector with Embedded Battery (Up to 2.5 hours)
- Screen Share (with Miracast supporting devices)
The LG PH30N is a tiny projector that produces a 720p image. It’s also got a built-in USB port and an HDMI cable.
The lack of built-in apps makes the LG Mini Projector stand out. Its bright light output is half that of the Anker Mars Pro and the M2’s. Its rechargeable battery lasts around two hours.
First projector purchase, so I’m not an expert but I did a lot of reading to get a good idea of what the quality would be like.
The projector is small enough to fit in a couple of chairs. We used a $32 movie screen and some bungee cords to secure it between two posts. It produced a clear and bright image that was incredibly easy to work with.
This speaker is great for our daughter’s bedroom. However, outside, we needed to find an external speaker plug.
The audio from our JBL Bluetooth speaker was always on time with our picture. Also, it was distracting when you wanted to watch a movie.
It looks pretty good, and is capable of streaming movies outdoors. Its battery life is about 2 hours, and it works seamlessly even though it doesn’t sync with iOS. If you have an Android device, it should also work seamlessly.
ViewSonic M2

- PORTABLE PROJECTOR: Ultra portable Full HD 1080p LED projector with 500 ANSI lumens and shorter throw lens
- VIVID COLORS: 125% Rec. 709 color accuracy and HDR content support produces lifelike colors
- PREMIUM AUDIO: Built in dual Harman Kardon Bluetooth speakers (audio only) deliver room filling audio
- EASY SETUP: Get set up in seconds with auto focus and horizontal/vertical keystone correction
- STREAMING SIMPLIFIED: Livestream sporting events, binge shows on Netflix or Disney+ by adding a dongle (not included)
The M2 has a bigger screen than the Anker, which makes it more likely to see pixel structure or a screen door effect when watching videos. In most cases, though, 720p is fine.
The Viewsonic is a larger version of the popular Viewsonic projector, but it lacks a built-in battery. If you’re looking for portability, this is not a good choice.
You get what you pay for, and then some for sure!
My love for piko projectors has always surprised me. The first one that caught my attention was the view sonic m1 projector. It was an older model that lacked the brightness and picture quality that I was looking for.
After 2 years of use, I got a refund from LG, which was nice, but I wanted to look around for something else. The Viewsonic X10 4K is too big for my space, and I settled on the M2.
You can also install another app called Aptoide, though it is not as good as the onboard app store. There are a few apps that are dodgy, but the majority seem to work well.
The main issue is that when playing Netflix, the aspect ratio automatically adjusted to the wrong setting, which results in an image that looks pixelated from the sides. This issue can be fixed by bringing up the remote, but the aspect ratio setting is still greyed out.

First time buyer, so far impressed. The size of the device is very portable. It can be mounted to a Joby Gorillapod or a regular triped. Its brightness is very good even though it’s not very bright. Its portability makes it very useful for people who do not have a full-fledged home theater.
The Solar has a built-in app called Nebula Manager, which lets you sideload Netflix and get the most of the native app’s functionality. Unfortunately, this method works only for Android TV and not for the phone, so you’ll have to use the Nebula Connect app to control it.
All of these apps work seamlessly on Android TV except Netflix.
The Mars II Pro is a great all-around device. It has everything you could dislike about it: loud and clear audio, Android TV, and a built-in angle adjustment.
ANSI lumens is the industry standard for brightness. Just ignore all the projectors that claim to have the same brightness.
The Anker VESA certified projector does not get bright even at the higher settings. Also, if you use the brightest settings, the battery will drain quickly.
Audio was good though. It won’t blow your mind though. I know that it can be used as a stand-alone Bluetooth speaker, but that’s not gonna happen for anyone.
One of the things that i was excited about was the Google play store. However, keep in mind that it’s not the same as a Netflix or something similar.

The GV1 is a tiny projector that has a design that makes it look like something that Hayao Miyazaki would have dreamt up. It features a tiltable head and is not as big as a can of Coke.
The Sony Vaio Mini 4P is a beautiful little device, but its poor picture quality and low contrast ratio make it unusable for most applications. Its portability is also limited by its lack of app support.
The picture quality is great, and the sound is not bad, but it could use improvement. I also have trouble with Disney+ and Netflix. I’m not sure why but it works fine for me.
The battery lasts for me to watch 2 movies on the patio or on the dock. Even with low brightness it still shows great.
