Atomic Habits

- English (Publication Language)
- 320 Pages - 10/16/2018 (Publication Date) - Avery (Publisher)
Atomic Habits have reached 3 million sales globally. To celebrate its success, James Clear tweeted that he bought one of the 3 million copies a year and a half ago.
I was already aware of some of the concepts of the book before I started reading it. I mainly focused on the article about the importance of establishing a process for achieving goals.
This book contains various supplementary material such as cheat sheets and templates that are very helpful for planning your own continuous improvement.
The book is action-oriented, and it features a step-by-step action plan that explains how to implement the concepts in your own life. Being able to relate to the concepts made it an excellent resource for people wanting to improve their habits.
The concept of identifying who you are before committing to a certain behavior is very helpful.
One of the most important elements of the book is the summary, which helps readers keep track of all the concepts.
The book is well-paced and can be easily read on its own as it features many references and stories. As an aside, I was already familiar with the concept of process than goals.
The book can also be used as a reference material once finished. Each chapter has a separate section that can be referred to depending on the situation.
American Marxism

- Hardcover Book
- Levin, Mark R. (Author)
- English (Publication Language)
- 320 Pages - 07/13/2021 (Publication Date) - Threshold Editions (Publisher)
Atomic Habits by James Clear sold over 3 million copies worldwide. It was announced that it had surpassed 3 million sales in just a few months. I was reminded of this book when I saw the news because I had purchased one of its millions copies several years ago.
The book is full of factual information about the current state of the US. It shows how the various ideological and race-based constructs are slowly and painfully working their way into the civil society.
The main stream media is actively participating in the dissemination of this ideology.
If you care about the truth about what is happening in the US, this book should be on your reading list. It’s been sitting there on my Kindle, waiting for me to read it.
It took me less than a week to finish Atomic Habits. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is serious about living a better life. I would also argue that it should be considered for the elite category of books.
Self-help and improvement are sometimes hard to resist. It can be very easy to get trapped into the idea of improving your life without actually doing it. But, every so often, a good book comes along that will help you achieve that goal.
Although it’s well worth reading cover-to-cover, I decided to highlight some of the lessons I learned from this book.
The Four Agreements

- In an easy language
- Toltec Wisdom Book
- This product will be an excellent pick for you
- Don Miguel Ruiz (Author)
- English (Publication Language)
The Four Agreements has completely changed my life. It’s not hyperbole, and I’ve been reading a lot of books on Buddhism and meditation.
After I started the First Agreement chapter, I found myself focusing on the phrases and sentences that stood out from the rest of the book, and I cried a lot.
Through these sessions, I was able to heal through my active attention, and I learned how to speak confidently to myself without being judgmental.
Give away too much of this book as it is so detailed and complex. The way it’s explained makes it so easy to understand, and it shows that you don’t need advanced philosophy to get started.
I feel like Don Miguel Ruiz has been right next to me, guiding me to see the beauty in me and the universe.
The best part of this journey is that I’m learning how to be me, not just the things that I put up guards. Learning how to be vulnerable and be present to others has changed my life forever.
If Animals Kissed Good Night

- Paul, Ann Whitford (Author)
- English (Publication Language)
- 34 Pages - 06/03/2014 (Publication Date) - Farrar, Straus and Giroux (BYR) (Publisher)
In this book, Ann Whitford Paul imagines the bedroom scenarios in which a pair of peacocks and a chick would kiss goodnight.
Python kisses are performed with varying degrees of difficulty. Seal kisses are made with underwater bubbles. A female cub and her mother make appearances.
Readers are introduced to the various features of animal babies, as well as the terms for these creatures. The book’s illustrations capture the attention of the youngest listeners.
This book is a great addition to any bedtime collection. It’s imaginative possibilities make it stand out.
The first page of the book talks about an animal’s reaction if they were kissed like humans. It imagines a wolf and a baby mouse getting ready to kiss.
The story is nicely written and the illustrations are great. The book also has an infectious refrain that’s usually followed by a few pages of “and her cub?” This is one of my favorite baby books because it’s so engaging and has a lot of fun.
If Animals Kissed Good Night is a great addition to any child’s library. The rhymes are great and the illustrations are stunning.
The Body Keeps the Score

- Penguin Books
- Ideal for a bookworm
- It's a great choice for a book person
- van der Kolk M.D., Bessel (Author)
- English (Publication Language)
Even though trauma is a fact of life, it can also leave a lasting impression on people’s minds and bodies. One in five Americans has experienced sexual assault, and many others have experienced domestic violence.
In this book, van der Kolk explains how various treatments can help people with PTSD and other mental health issues get back on track. These include yoga, neurofeedback, and play.
This book shows how deeply affected I was by the things that happened to me when I was younger, and how those around me were also affected by the same things.
I thought that only the weak people needed to talk about their problems, as it was the past that could be used to justify their actions. I also believed that those who had been affected by their past behaved badly.
For a time, I was able to get married and have a great family. Then, all of a sudden, everything came crashing down. For over a decade, I was constantly worrying about my anxiety.
I’m finally on the path to achieving all of my goals, and I can’t thank this book enough. While I can’t claim that it all came from this book, I can say that it helped me get there.
If you’ve suffered a major trauma in your life, this book can help. It will give you the strength to overcome all of the things that are keeping you down.
I Love You to the Moon and Back

- Amelia Hepworth (Author)
- English (Publication Language)
- 28 Pages - 03/03/2015 (Publication Date) - Tiger Tales (Publisher)
In this book, a bear and a cub start their day together by splashing in the water, playing in the mountains, and hugging each other. This is a sweet, gentle, and fun song to sing.
When the main characters are grown up, they go through various activities with their baby bear. Some of these include swimming in the bath, holding the little one up high, and touching noses.
This book is a great way to celebrate the love between a parent and their child. With sturdy pages and beautiful illustrations, this book will make a great bedtime addition.
The pictures are very sweet, and I love how the bears have friendly faces and how big the one looks. This book is also selling well because of how sweet it is.
I like that the main characters are not fully explained, so they can be easily identified by their various names.
The pictures are drawn with a lot of soft lines and the animals seem to have a real night time feel to them. One of my favorites is when the bears are lying in the grass and looking at the Northern lights.
This book is full of emotion and is easy to read. It’s also a great way to spend a quiet afternoon together.

When Atlas comes back to Boston, he asks Lily to leave Ryle. However, due to an unexpected complication, she must confront Ryle and try to put an end to the abuse before it gets too late.
I was so glad I picked this book up after hearing about it. It was a compulsively readable read full of heart-breaking and powerful characters.
The characters are drawn well, and the descriptions of their movements were sharp and vivid. I enjoyed the action in each scene, and I was thoroughly drawn in by the end of the book.
The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse

- Hardcover Book
- Mackesy, Charlie (Author)
- English (Publication Language)
- 128 Pages - 10/22/2019 (Publication Date) - HarperOne (Publisher)
Two years after its release, Charlie Mackesy’s “The Last Picture Book” caught the attention of many people. The artist shared a drawing of a young boy and a tiny mole on his Instagram account. The child, who was barely a toddler at that time, looked like a little boy.
The reaction was warm, with one person commenting that it took them back to a childhood moment. Others said that it was the start of a surprise hit.
The Boy, The Horse, The Fox, and The Mole are not traditional picture books. Instead, they’re stories about four individuals who share their confidence and meet one another. It’s not aimed at children, but it works well for people of all ages.
The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse is a beautiful and heartfelt book full of characters that we can relate to in some way. The conversations between the main character and his friends help remind us of the lessons we have forgotten.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar

- Now even younger children can follow the little green caterpillar as he eats his way to becoming a beautiful butterfly in this...
- Great for early development
- Children will enjoy this delightful tale
- Ages 2 to 5
- Carle, Eric (Author)
When the newborn caterpillar eats through the pages, it gets bigger and fatter, and turns into a butterfly with wings made of fruits and vegetables. Eric Carle brings humor to this story.
Eric Carle uses the concept of metamorphosis to teach kids about the importance of eating healthy. In this book, he introduces the importance of eating right.
Carle’s collage-like designs feature vibrant colors and geometric shapes in the pages, and the butterfly’s body makes use of these elements. A fun addition to the book is the counting lesson, which involves adding little fingers to the food items that the baby eats.
The book has various sized pages, and each one has a hole punched in the center to indicate the food that the caterpillar eats. It’s also thick enough that I can actually watch as the baby caterpillar makes its way through the various food items that it eats. On the other hand, I can’t wait to give him a piece of green pipe cleaner so that he can see his very own caterpillar.
On the first day of school, the newborn caterpillar builds a small house around himself. He stays in it for over two weeks before transforming into a multi-colored butterfly. This concept is very similar to the story in the book.
